Dogmatic Individuals

The viral video showing a woman recanting her vote for Pete Buttigieg when she learnt Pete is gay is a good example of how the left has its own amount of dogmatic individuals.

It also shows that many individuals go to the ballot not knowing much about their chosen candidate.

Why did she want to vote for him in the first place?

For his policies?

Then what does being gay have to do with the presented policies she accepted in the first place?

What changes in a person’s mind the moment they learn another person is gay or lesbian?

In the woman’s case, she claims a bible passage for her reason to retract the vote.

Okay fine! These types are right, you cannot argue with that.

How can anyone argue against a person who puts on the table arguments written in the bible?

In fact, here is two passage that gives right to the woman in the video:

You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. – Leviticus 18:22.

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. – Leviticus 20:13

All they are doing is following their religion and that is hard to argue against.

Why do you think she does that facial expression right after she invoke the bible idea?

Because in her mind and as well as many others, responses extracted from the bible is the ultimate word, another way of saying; “you can’t rebuke this”.

However, read this:

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. – Peter 4:8

Peter’s passage absorbs the Leviticus passage in my opinion.

As much as one can find something in favor, one can find something in disfavor, and vice versa. The bible is full of contradictions, you can verify this visually on bibviz.com and even read the contradictions in case you doubt.

Thus, since the bible is not clear and very contradictive, do like everybody else, choose and pick what fits best, especially what fits best in order for our society to move forward in civility. When you open the bible, you can end up rich, in prison, turn vile, or you can turn into a person of envy.

It is all up to you.

If a video of you goes viral, would you want to be the woman recanting her vote or Pete’s voting agent?

I choose the latter.

Impeccable Demi Lovato And a First For Quebec And NFL

Demi Lovato is one of those public figures where our entire family has a strong opinion in a negative way. Yet, who would take away Demi Lovato’s talent? She is a very good performer, to the point it was one of the best Super Bowl openings ever, at least in my memory.

On this overly abnormal warm February winter morning, many Quebecers are happy to learn their first resident won a Super Bowl. On top of that, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, the player in question, is also the first player in the NFL to be a medical doctor and the first to win a Super Bowl with such title. It gives me hope, because for a little insignificant place and small population, Quebecers often do nice entrances internationally.

Hillary, The Sleazy Snake

Before the news becomes outdated, I need to opine on Hilary Clinton’s latest hideous public statement against Bernie Sanders.

Over a week ago during a little tour in Pasadena, California, Hilary Clinton criticized Bernie Sanders history in politics, saying he did little. She also stated that “people got sucked into it”, in reference to her idea people who voted for Bernie are delusional of Bernie’s capacity.

Well!

Bernie Sanders has been mayor twice and the only reason he was not elected for a third term is that he personally chose not to run, as he wanted to teach at a University. Ineffective at the mayoral office Bernie was not, he actually did great.

Bernie Sanders and the senate are synonym as he spent more time there than many other politicians. To have represented “the people” so many times and for so long, Bernie Sanders’s has nothing to prove, especially towards Hilary, the one hit wonder politician.

Hilary has continued attacks on Bernie and that can only suggest she is trying to sink him in favor of another candidate. In other words, it is all the same story for the Democratic establishment, ready to self-shoot in the foot, again.

Hilary and her cronies call for unity, but only for a few select. The rest get the treatment as we see it happening towards Bernie. She never understood how to pass the message without disparaging an entire group, such as the time she called a lot of people “basket of deplorables”. This time around, saying Bernie Sanders supporters “got sucked into it” is a way to make people think twice and agree upon Bernie’s’ rival instead.

Bernie is not fool proof, but he will never sink that low.

Moving

The end of October was the last time this site received an update, where I expressed my sentiment towards the 2019 Canadian election. Since then, we found a new home to live in despite the failed attempt at a house purchase earlier in 2019. We did not purchase, we decided to rent in haste before winter settled in, and we hardly made it.

We decided to search mid-September with the aim of moving no later than December. A perilous decision because moving mostly happens in July around here, where it is an actual phenomenon. Thus, finding a home and or leasing the departing apartments before end-of-lease induced nerve-racking moments. We put our apartments for rent and after a few days tantalizing the market, we received so many applications we were comfortable enough to go ahead and search for a house to rent. We had to gamble this way, because with the additional animosity we accumulated with the failure at a house purchase earlier that year, we did not want to wait until July, thus ready to risk hardship. The gamble paid off, we found a house to live in as well the tenants to our departing apartments.

We wanted to leave the area at any cost, as we could not endure another eight to nine months. The two main reasons for our collective dislike of the old dwelling were parking problems and peacefulness of the area. The two problems generated the moment our borough decided to add a reserved bus lane and bicycle path on our street. Before the change, we could manage, but from then on, parking became a huge problem and the area felt noisier.

We moved in our new place December 1, 2019, it was emotional for everyone as we lived at the previous place for over 19 years. Finally, the children have their own room, a backyard for the dogs and an office for my wife and I. However, most importantly, we finally have a garage, a feature greatly needed, as I love undertaking projects. Speaking of projects, right now I have a few more renovations to undertake or finish, mostly little projects such as installing the backsplash in the kitchen, install new floor bathroom tiles and creating a nice workbench in the garage. Other than that, sitting at the computer desk other than for business happens more often, to the point I can start doing extra stuff, such as write for this website. I hope this impromptu move created my last pause concerning this website, as I do not want to create lengthy empty intervals from now on. That was a mouthful!

2019 Canadian Election

Today Canadians are voting for the directions of the country for the next few years. I have little knowledge of Jagmeet Singh from the New Democratic Party (NPD), where he has been so quiet he never caught my attention, thus no clue of his general philosophies. I never liked Andrew Sheer from the Conservatives as his thinking are at odd with mine. And Justin Trudeau, even if I like the persona, I do not support him and would not vote for him, as I abstained in the past by supporting the extremely hard working politician Tom Mulcair from the NPD. However, he is not around this time.

Either way, Canada is not the type of country where when a political group comes to power the entire under laying of previous generations is degutted to the ground, as our cousins from the south are living right now. Here in Canada, the public much more than elsewhere aligns those who are in politics. In Canada, a politician talking filthy for example, will lose their seat in no time. On the other hand, in the U.S for example, if a politician has a certain type of attitude not accepted generally, they would and does serve nevertheless because they represent a population within the U.S accepting it and normalize for the rest of the country. Here in Canada, not only it is far more difficult to pinpoint a locality of a politician based on their party or perceived character, it is also difficult for any odd characters to go forward as the general public will call them out.

Thus, no matter who is in power changes made are small and or consequences rarely of grave negative outcome because all political parties in Canada are similar in conduct, just not the philosophies. Here, we can say political parties pull and some other pushes, but all move in the same direction nonetheless. I am content that Canada has this attitude, unlike down there where parties pull and push as well, but unquestionably in different directions.

Hillary and Tulsi

Another example why Hillary Clinton has been the odd one and a sad story despite her popularity.

Hillary Clinton recently made a comment indirectly linking Tulsi Gabbard to being a Russian asset. She points out the Russian Bots and other method being employed by Russia favors Tulsi Gabbard in the hopes Tulsi will be the third leg in this presidency candidate race.

The problem with Hillary’s comment in my opinion is not the unproven claims of Russian efforts to favor Tulsi, she might be right there, the problem lies on the fact she set Tulsi on a higher stand than she was or ever would have if the comment would not have been made. For those who did not know Tulsi, they now do. And those who loathe Hillary, will esteem Tulsi for the fact she replied soon after with vigor putting Hillary in her place, kind of.

Therefore, we can say Hillary Clinton made another massive blunder, so much, she’s the asset now.

Who’s deplorable now Hillary?

Undone Commitments

Mustafa Bali, the head of SDF Press Office in northern Syria, twitted a few days ago a sentence that caught my attention. In fact, his entire post was right on point.

It is a recurring theme with Trump’s administration, dropping commitments.

And yet those people do not expect the U.S to protect them, and Mustafa Bali said it without any demeaning tone as well. He also articulated well the sentiments of many individuals in that region, where many feel they are owed an explanation as there were pacts maid in the past and now the U.S pulls out of those commitments without explanation.

If you ask my opinion, this is another engineered consequence favoring Turkey and their friend, not NATO, but Russia. It continues to play well into Russia’s long term objective of diminishing the U.S leadership. It also plays well into the further removal and weakening of U.S forces in the region.

Russia’s requirements are being fulfilled and right now with Trump at the helm, that they pupped him or not, they are pleased with the consequences.

Meanwhile the Democrats are impeaching the impossible, never in the history of the United States have they been attacked so seriously all the while being complacent. All this, merely because they are taking advantage of the United States during their period of great divide while The Great Divider is leader.

2000 Assets Plus One

“Iran was responsible for the attack”

And Trump’s administration answer to that, declaring deployment of additional resources.

And that would change what over the well over two dozen U.S military bases of all types and sizes surrounding Iran?

How’s Iran going to deal with a few more assets around them?

The same way as they have done over the past decades, because 2000 assets plus one added remains the same for them. The additional assets declared by Trump is a drop in the ocean and can be seen as a political stunt, all bark. And that includes the sanctions the U.S recently reopened or added against Iran since the alleged attack. All light and laughable, desperate even.

Mind Bending Truck Owner

Unless someone asks, we have no clue of the reason the owner added an extra axle on his Ford truck. Maybe it is for appearance, perhaps it’s to pull heavier loads.

Either way, there are plenty of these types of custom builds around, I have seen one in Florida a few years back that was not a 6×6 but rather a simple rear wheel drive.

Thus, I have trouble with the comment supposedly made by the uploader of the video clip where he states to have talked to the guy of the 6×6 before going up that ascent.

It is mind bending to see such comment made by a truck owner, at least he is driving one at the moment he took that clip.

The truck seem to be rear wheel drive as only the last rear axle have some slippage happening to the wheels. No spin occurs with the wheels in front of the last axle nor do the front wheels pull in any way. Thus, the driver either forgot he has a 6×6 and it is not engaged or he doesn’t have a 6×6 setup. Maybe he has a 6×6 setup and he does have the 6×6 engaged, but his system is broken. A broken transfer case and differential can create the symptom seen on the video clip. If the pass-through differential in front of the rear is broken it can drive the rear axle but not his own axle.

For those who care to know why that Ford truck could not go up, I made a little sketch.

Being only rear wheel driven, what happens here is that the last axle is being lifted due to the axle right in front of it creating leverage. The first frame and wheels setup show what happens when a truck with such setup tries to go up a hill. The last axle is shown stiff to show how far it would be from the road.

The second sketch of a frame and wheels represent accurately what you see on the video clip. Due to the suspension the last axle drops on the road, but since it is exerting a load only equal to the weight of the differential, suspension and wheels, it’s not enough grip.

I hope this information helps someone.

Oh! Before I end this, I want to jab at a fellow writer at Jalopnik, Mr. Tracy for a comment he made in his article titlted: Watch A Six-Wheeled Ford Super Duty Fail At Climbing A Slight Incline

Mr. Tracy, you said in your article the video you found demonstrating a 6×6 is almost certainly the exact same truck struggling to make it up the slight incline in Rhode Island, well it’s not. Apart from many other indications differentiating the two trucks, can’t you tell the difference between gasoline and Diesel engine?

A Glowing Future For The Canadian Lobster Fisheries

Everything said and brought to attention in this PBS reporting is important, but take a particular note the moment this sentence is said:

“So China’s retaliatory tariffs benefit the Canadian industry, already growing as the Gulf of Maine warms, pushing lobsters north.”

Humans can add or remove layers of clothing or switch a button to get a gust of hot or cold air from a man-made air conditioning system. Animals, be it marine or terrestrial feel every temperature change just like us, but unlike us they do not have the capacity to make themselves comfortable artificially. The only thing they know, and this without truly thinking about it, is to settle where they feel more at ease. As the water warmed up over the decades, Lobsters started to be less abundant in the southern confine of the Lobster range, which is the Carolinas, and became more abundant in Canada where now the waters are becoming more suitable. And in the near future, say 40 years from now, the coast of the United States can reach temperatures warm enough to completely collapse the lobster fisheries. This is not farfetched, already experienced by Canada with its massive industrial closures in the 1990’s due to the Northern Cod stock collapse. During the period of collapse well over 30,000 individuals were affected and the commerce never got up off its feet either. Therefore in the future the US might only have the spiny lobster types as a significant resource, but their taste and texture aren’t quite the same.
