Midnight Cat Chat

When I was young and my parents went on vacation to Italy, we often visited relatives and among the families, one really stood out. I believe the connection to this family runs through my father’s side. Regardless, even though I only saw them a few times every couple of years, fond memories of those visits remain. As a child, there was this fascination with this family because unlike other families, they were active in many areas that I love. Like his brother, my uncle was legally blind but led a normal life. Not only was he a musician, but he was also an avid fisherman and himself loved to invite us on fishing trips and boat trips. After fishing trips, we always returned to their home and feasted on the day’s catch with a dozen families, often with relatives traveling with us from Canada. There is a nice feeling when you end up hanging out with cousins and families, living in one country and ending up on the other side of the world. Another thing that freaked me out as a kid was their house, which explains why they could invite so many people over. They had such an elaborate house that next to their dining room there was a dance room with a sound system and instruments such as my beloved drum kit. Located on a hill in the town called Silvi, their huge balconies faced the Adriatic Sea. These fishing trips and partying until the early hours were memorable on many levels.

Still in my early teens, one year in particular, one of these days of fishing and partying lasted until the early hours. Around eleven in the evening most people get tired and leave, not us, we always stayed longer since we only saw each other during our visits to Italy. My parents easily gave in to their requests to stay. The small group of closest relatives ended the night on the huge balcony facing the Adriatic Sea. On this balcony, next to the table and chairs, there was a hammock bench that I was lying on at one point due to exhaustion. Eyes closed, gently swinging on the hammock while being touched by a gentle warm wind from the Adriatic Sea, the harmony was broken by the arrival of two chatty cats. Probably sitting on the edge of the fence at my uncle’s house, these two cats chatted for over an hour. Having heard them with my eyes closed, to a point it was as if I was next to them, it was both fascinating and eerie.

Although I recognize their great abilities and intelligence, I do not like cats, perhaps one of the most loathed animals due to their behavior and emitting sounds. Not liked, and yet I created a music composition that features replicating cats talking to each other. The cats are not celebrated here, they are just catalyst in my memories towards amazing times of my youth.

My uncle is not among us any longer, I dedicate the music composition Midnight Cat Chat to him. Ciao! C.C

Another Chapter

I have not written for over a year on my website and this is due to a busy and somewhat arduous life. I actually ended up catching the first strain of the coronavirus, which destroyed my lungs for over a year. Then my father died in November 2021, and about nine months later, my dear uncle passed away. The high level of stress caused by where we currently live created a life-turning event as well. We are in the process of moving, for the last time, we made the decision to purchase a house. We have one month. My gosh!

Despite being very busy preparing for the big move, I decided to start poking around my site at least once a month. I have to, it is important for the future of this site. To write something, even unkind, is better than nil, after all, it is a commentary website.

I Was Infected With COVID-19 For 10 Minutes – A Cautionary Tale

The 19th of November 2020, I had a rendezvous at the Montreal Heart Institute for an ECG test. The ECG test takes less than a minute to accomplish, however, to get my ECG test, it took over 10 minutes of unrelated testing and COVID-19 question answering because their infrared temperature tool kept reporting 39.6 degrees Celsius, which obviously alarmed them due to the COVID-19 era.

After multiple oral temperature check giving out an average reading of 36.4, and my attempts telling them I was fine, the only way they would let me take the ECG test is for them to take a rectal temperature. Having no choice, I told them they could do it, but that meant more waiting, as they had to go get another temperature measurement device. Once done, it displayed a temperature of 36.6, only 0.2 degrees more than my oral results. Only then, they were satisfied, albeit still completely baffled as to why my external temperature was 39.6 and internal temperatures were normal. They were in total four people discussing what to do with my case, as they have never seen such a case. Oh well!

I am no expert, I do not know why my skin was 39.6, but I do know my skin feels very hot whenever my body is exposed to the cold. This is true since I was young, I always been the type to not wear a lot of clothing during winter time, while others need many layers, I need a coat and t-shirt and I am fine. That November morning it was 0 degree Celsius, and since I had to walk quite a distance from where I parked up to the Heart Institute building, my body had the time to do the reaction. Therefore, when they took my temperature, my skin was still very hot, showing the 39.6 degrees Celsius.

Thus, all this to say, those infrared temperature tool should not be taken as a sure thing. Those tools might be accurate, and it was, as they tested it against their own skin and gave out a normal reading. But for my case, coming from a very cold outdoor, the tool did not tell the full story and they simply believed I was sick, potentially with COVID-19, as I overheard one specialist say to the other present outside my room. However, at the end, I was not sick, as my internal temperature was normal.

If you ever get your temperature checked with one of these electronic infrared temperature tool and those people says you have a fever, but you feel fine, fight their finding and demand other means of producing your temperature result. You never know, you might have a reason for the different internal and external temperatures.

Healthy Anti-Maskers Versus Mask Wearer With True Condition

While viewing a video highlighting how Kelly Lynch lives with her ailments, I have noticed she wears a mask in public to protect against COVID-19 despite living with a pulmonary hypertension. At that point, I made a remark, which I will share with you verbatim.

This girl, handicapped, including a severe pulmonary hypertension requiring an oxygen machine 24/7, does not complain about the fact she must wear a mask. Then there are healthy people out there conceiving health conditions for the sole purpose to be exempt of wearing a mask.

At one point after the 2020 U.S presidential election, Trump seemed to be aligning himself to be kicked out of the White House. Thank goodness it never happened, because I could not imagine such event occurring in a democratic country.

Mrs. Bergeron From Bell Textron Mirabel Is Wrong

Many people in Quebec are upset that our provincial police (Sûreté du Québec) did not buy a helicopter from Bell Textron of Mirabel, even more so for not going through a bidding. Some argue that “made in Quebec” should prevail, especially when Bell/Textron is about to lay off 75 of its 1,200 workers in Mirabel due to the slowdown in sales.

On top of that, Patricia Bergeron, the communication manager of Bell/Textron of Mirabel, argues that the solution offered by Bell/Textron would have been more affordable than the purchase of a rival aircraft. Mrs. Bergeron pressed further by stating that the purchase of a non-usual helicopter in the force will require additional training and the need to acquire new tools to service.

Okay, she is somewhat right with those points, but not completely right and wrong in regards to my following arguments.

First, it is one helicopter and nobody on this planet is going to argue that an entire business composed of at least 1200 workers will suffer for one helicopter bought elsewhere. If this was a case of a huge order, say 10 helicopters, than I would argue in favor of the jobs here in Quebec. However, for one helicopter, please, get the heck out of here with your argument of jeopardizing jobs.

Second, Mrs. Bergeron might be a sellout to U.S conglomerates, but I am not. Thus, for me buying European is actually a good thing, especially while Donald Trump is in power. Let us not forget, Donald Trump imposed so many tariffs on our brute products that we lost much more than 75 jobs. Therefore, until Donald Trump is in power, buying European is a better choice as a mean of retaliation. He wants to play hardball, bring it on.

Third, the argument that new tooling and further training is required with the purchase of a new aircraft is an old trick that ALL companies love to uphold. Boeing, Airbus and others are predisposed to lay that prospect to its existing clients, it is nothing new. However, I greatly believe it is wrong to cling to one manufacturer because relaying on one manufacturer has its caveats. For example, imagine a company with a fleet of only Boeing 737 MAX’s. With the Boeing 737 MAX groundings, what do you think the chances of survival is for this company using only 737 MAX’s? Almost none because they have no other aircraft to immediately alleviate their grounded planes, thus total cease of operations for the company. On the other hand, a fleet composed of two or more models is a better choice in my opinion. Moreover, I will argue that the additional expertise that the mechanics will acquire with additional products is a plus and the added tooling is further assets a company possess.

Fourth, Mrs. Bergeron can talk all day long about how cheaper their BELL helicopter would have been, but I doubt she would mention the Airbus H145, developed by Eurocopter and Kawasaki Heavy Industries, is superior to any of the BELL’s offerings regarding the type of helicopter the SQ police might consider.

Leaders talking to their citizens about COVID-19

Of all leaders around the world, Trump thinks the U.S citizens are the only people on this planet not being able to learn the truth, he thinks they will panic, so he deceits.

Because a U.S citizen would have freaked more than a Japanese or Italian in knowing the truth?

I do not get this one.

Ah! Wait, I do get it, Trump was thinking about himself, as usual.

Trump And Navid Afkari Case

The other day Donald Trump tweeted a message at Iranian officials asking for dropping the execution of an Iranian personality named Navid Afkari.

I approve of Trump’s plea toward the Iranian officials to not kill Navid Afkari as I am against the death penalty.

However, I doubt Trump’s reason for asking to spare Afkari’s life is the same as my reasoning. I do not believe in the afterlife. Thus, in my opinion, if one kills a person that committed a crime, he or she will not suffer the penalty. Killing the convict, as frightening as it may be for the person in question, it is actually a deliverance once done. Once killed, there is no more suffering of any kind, at least, that we can be assured of. On the other hand, keeping a person alive in prison until they die on their own is assurance the convict suffers as long they breathe.

Now that said, Trump should shut up concerning what Iran does with its convicts, as much Iran shuts up with what the U.S does with its convicts. If you noticed, as always, Trump neglects details for his own benefit, for example in his tweets he never mentions Navid Afkari has allegedly killed someone during the Iranian riots, hence the death penalty. FoxNews, the enabler and original false and distorted newsmaker, does not mention such detail as well. At the end, it is the everlasting narrative for these people, hate Iran. It does not matter if Navid Afkari did in fact kill the security guard or not, as long they portray the Iranian officials as always vicious, it is fine with FoxNews and Trump. At the end, it makes the reader of the news think the Iranian officials are just killing an innocent person and with that, enrage the gullible U.S citizen. The least they could do for a proper news cover is to mention a “possibility” Afkari did kill a guard by stabbing. But, FoxNews and Trumpaganda at its best here.

And to sum up, and the reason I posted this commentary, is to make you aware, or at the very least to make you remember that not long ago, Trump’s own administration asked the court to reinstate the death penalty at the federal level.

Therefore, while Trump asked another country to stop an execution, his own influence asked to reinstate the death penalty at home.

Hypocritical at its best this Trump administration.

For those who does not understand the edit below, it is a scene from the movie Jaws where the mayor Larry Vaughn (replaced with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in this photo edit), does not take advice from police Chief Martin Brody and oceanographer Matt Hooper. We all know what happened next, many died because the mayor refused to believe or favored to keep the beach open on purpose to make money out of tourism rather the close the beach and save lives. I think it is a good analogy with what happened with COVID in Ron’s own turf.
